Armenia - A year to remember
Armenia is a magical, mystical, and almost even mythical place where the ark from the narrative of Noah’s Ark rested last. In the Book of Genesis, it is here, upon the mountains of Ararat, the ancient kingdom of Urartu, that the ark came to rest. Noah planted the first seeds of grape here when he came out of the ark, and the first wine ever brewed is believed to be here, in Armenia, in 4000 BC!
The sky put on a show every morning and evening, changing every few minutes, leaving me in just as much awe as the mountains here, the harmonious combination, where no mountain looks rugged, the shape of each is unique and yet blends with ease- no wonder Armenia is called The Mother of the World.
Our purpose, I believe, was to come to Armenia to:
Meet some of the best people there are ❤️
Build friendships that will last longer than time 🤍
Love and be loved 💙
Heal in ways we didn’t know we needed to 💜
But most importantly, be humbled and witness the strength of Armenians as they fight for their freedom and their honor, for peace and love 🖤
This place will forever be in our hearts, and so will the amazing people we’ve met here 💛
And my students ❤️ I think of them very often, very fondly. They’re smart, they’re intelligent, they’re crazy, they’re sensible, they’re sensitive and they’re everything our world needs 🤍 and I’m glad that I’ve been able to be a part of their lives, although for a shorter time - they’ve made me a better person and I will always remember them all 💙 They’re not the easiest, but that’s why they’re so special, they question and ask important things, they speak up, they act, and they’re not afraid to make mistakes 💛 for that, they have my respect.
