Pink is the Colour of Pride - Passion - Positivity - Pinkathon 2016!

Pink is not just a colour, its an attitude! The colour pink makes everything look pretty. As long as there is pink in the world, it will always be a better place. Pink is power - power to protect yourself as a woman from ailments. Don't give yourself another excuse for being unhealthy, give yourself a reason to stay fit.

Pinkathon Bangalore 2016 - The first Marathon I ran after school, made me feel alive & awesome. It made me realise that all I need in life is to be fit, the rest will follow the suit. If I am not healthy, my wealth and wisdom are not going to take me anywhere. When I registered for Pinkathon 2016 I never thought the morning of 31st Jan 2016 is going to be on of the best ever. It looked like just another day till I breathed the fresh silent air of early morning mixed with the dew that smelled of health.

The KTPO ground saw a turnout of more than 10000 women - women from all walks of life. There were women in all sizes, shapes & colour. Some single, some alone, some with their girl gangs, some with their little one's clinging to them, some pushing their baby carts, some with special challenges, some young and some old BUT all women were beautiful and blessed. They danced to the Zumba tunes and laughed aloud, they cheered for each other as they ran - all of them are winners already. They chose to run for themselves, for their daughters and sisters and mothers and all the Indian women.

Nothing is sexier than a man who works to promote fitness of women. Milind Soman, the founder of Pinkathon says "The Pinkathon is more than a Marathon. It is the seed of change. It is the beginning of a movement carried forward by a growing community of empowered women across India, who share a belief that a healthy family, a healthy nation and a healthy world begins with empowered women. The first step in empowerment is taking control of your own health, respecting yourself and understanding and celebrating the value you bring to your family and society. Empowerment is not a gift of society, it is a gift you give yourself."

And it wasn't just Milind promoting wellness of women, Sameer Sachdeva had literally pushed all of us, all the women at Pinkathon on fire. He made us feel HOT! There were men who were picking trash up from the middle of the road to give us a cleaner path to run, there were men cheering every lady to finish the run, applauding every single effort made by every woman present there, there were men volunteering and helping in every way they could.
Exercising, good diet, meditation, yoga, positive thinking - these are not just terms, these are the secrets to a happier, more fulfilling life. Healthy women make happy families!
Let's RUN for a cause, let the cause be we, let breast cancer not censor your world. Let's wake up and listen to what our bodies have to say before they stop saying it all!
