Turning 30 - Are we really churning it up?

Terrified are those who are about to turn 30, but once there, they are terrified of anyone younger than that. It's said that a woman who's turned thirty is most likely to be hit by a bomb than a man, well, I would dare to disagree here, since, it took me 30 whole years to look this good & well, no comments on how  I haven't yet been hit by a bomb!

Just a few days before we turn 30, we are constantly and rudely reminded that most of our friends are married and have kids, while we are still single, that our body parts are going to hurt for no reason, that early to bed & early to rise will keep us healthy, wealthy & wise, that we are just half way to being 60, that we won't be able to blow all the candles on our birthday cake at one go, that we're going to be older than 42% of Americans and the last, most frantic of all is that I MUST stay away from all sinfully delicious food since it would only add to my waistline.

At one point it feels like I'm fighting terrorism rather than age. I'd prefer to die than give up on my late nights, fa(s)t food, junk and sarcasm. So, I decided to take it in my hands and save the world of all who are going to turn 30 or are already at the club.

At 30, you respect your mother more than ever before, you loom large on your time than on money, you are more generous than you thought you could be, you are more kind, you certainly are more thoughtful about your finances, you have learnt to relax and find time for yourself, you socialize but don't really bitch, you are less concerned about what people have to say behind you and you dare to chase every dream you ever dreamed.

On a lighter note, your sense of style and dressing has emerged from bold & sexy to graceful & sexy; the red lipstick is probably replaced by a lip balm; partying hard is replaced by quiet TV time; you don't pass out at 4 beer any longer, hangovers mean something, really; no boy-toys any longer, you need mature men to even have conversation with; you don't settle down with "whatever" ever and lastly, you don't say rotten things like "drink responsibly or drive carefully".

I would define 30 as an attitude that says - I have all there resources to finish the project that sounded great when I was in my twenties, I know exactly what I want and how, I was never any better or smarter than I am today, I know what I'm doing and why, I can catch up with all the dreams that were termed regardless, it's actually the 10th anniversary of my 20th birthday - in a nutshell, whatever I know, I learnt after I turned 30, literally. So hey people, stop being so paranoid about age. Women and wine are always better when aged! Whoever said that was a smart son of a bitch!
