Book Review: CAN LOVE HAPPEN TWICE - By Ravinder Singh

A sequel to his novel I TOO HAD A LOVE STORY, this book is again the one that would touch hearts through its simplicity. The first book was his true story bringing back to life his dead girl friend, whereas this one is a mystery to be solved by the reader as he hasn't specified if its completely his true story or partly.
The books starts with a mystery plot in a radio station with Amardeep, Manpreet & Happy whereas the RJ still awaits Ravin's arrival. As Ravin seems to be late, the RJ and the other 3 guests start the show. Jus when Ravin's friends announce that he is in a rehabilitation center in Simla and they would be holding a book reading of his unpublished, incomplete book LIVE. The radio station sees the highest TRP ever and the book reading continues for the longest 5 hours with live callers dialing to ask numerous questions.
Ravin is depressed after Khushi's death and accepts it as his destiny. He feels that rue love happens just once and he's had his share, hence, he decided to live with Khushi in his memories forever. 5 years after the horrifying accident that distorted Ravin's life, he decides to shift to Belgian for work. There he's just started living when he meets Simar, a beautiful young Punjabi girl studying in Belgian. Being Indians, they befriend each other soon and enjoy one another's company. Simar reads Ravin's book and comes to know of Khushi, the ice between them breaks and Ravin falls in love, once again! The magic of love casts its spell and they make love bonding them stronger yet...! Once again a warm summer takes over a harsh winter of Ravin's life and Simar changes his entire life. They're neck deep in love and decide to get married as soon as Simar finishes her studies.
Life had different plans for Ravin though, and once again, with all cruelty, a beautiful love story again turns horrifying. You don't always need a wild truck racing madly on the road to kill a love story, sometimes people kill it themselves and its called a "break-up". Simar and Ravin break up due to unmatched social phobias that Simar encountered and her naive and staunch nature doesn't let her see things logically. Ravin gives up on Simar and life gives up on him. He's depressed, this time even worse. So much so that he lands running madly on roads and meets with a fatal accident. After his recovery he's been shifted to a rehabilitation center, where again ,he shows no signs of improvement.
The listeners and RJ are awestruck and teary eyed. The program ends with an incomplete book, which Ravin's friends claim, he'll complete once he's fine. They leave the radio station and just then, Happy's phone rings. The name flashin on the screen is "SIMAR" and she'd listened the whole program. She was crying inconsolably as she wasn't aware about anything that happened to Ravin after they broke up. She takes the address of the Rehabilitation center.
We hope, the next book would be a happy ending of a beautiful second love story of Ravin's life.
